HART Modems, communication software, and HART configurators / HART communicators

Smar produces a range of HART modems for PCs (Serial and USB), HART configuration software for PCs and Hand Held HART communicators. These are described briefly below:

1) DDCON100 -

This complete package turns your PC or Laptop into a HART configurator / HART communicator allowing you to fully configure all HART device using the latest HART DDL (Device Descriptor Language) technology ratified by the HART Communication Foundation. The modem has a USB connection as most modern laptops and PC's do not have serial ports. DDCON100 supports multidrop operations, storage of configurations for latter online and offline use, and bus monitoring. You can also export device and monitoring information to other windows applications.

2) HPC401 -

HPC401 is a Palm based HART Configurator. The Palm TX (provided in the package) is much lighter and smaller than a laptop for field based work. Features: Hart DDL support, online and offline configuration of devices; configurations can be uploaded to and downloaded from the Palm. Using the palm platform raises the functionality of this HART configurator beyond that of dedicated HART terminals. For instance Palm Memo pad enables notes to be taken about any subject when out in the field. You have the full use of the Palm as a PDA with its address book, calendar, emails, web browsing, and multimedia capabilities, etc. This product raises your ability to support and maintain HART devices to a level higher than any other HART configurator. HPC401 can also be integrated with DDCON100 for uploading and downloading your saved HART configurations.

3) HI321 -

The HI321 is an isolated USB HART network interface for PCs and Laptops. The HI321 provides 1.5m of coiled cable with two grip connectors. The HI321 is an Isolated HART USB Interface and can therefore protect your computer equipment from damaging voltage levels when connecting to HART field devices and networks. The HI321 is recommended over the HI311 especially if it is to be used on laptops. Many modern laptops do not have serial ports, so even if the laptop you use today has one its replacement might not. The HI321 can also be used to replace your existing serial HART modem as it is compatible with all HART Communication packages that would normally require a serial HART modem. A software driver provided with this interface creates a virtual serial port enabling software designed for serial modems to use this USB modem.

4) HI311 -

The HI311 ia an isolated RS232/HART network interface for standard DB9 serial ports found on PCs and Laptops. The HI311 provides 1.5m of coiled cable with two grip connectors. The HI311 is an Isolated HART Serial Interface and can therefore protect your computer equipment from damaging voltage levels when connecting to HART field devices and networks.
